CTP prices will vary depending on when your vehicle registration is due, your vehicle class and whether you are a Private customer or a GST Registered Tax Entity.

From 1 July 2003 GST transitional arrangements ceased. Please read about these GST Changes prior to ascertaining your premium.

Please choose your Tax Status and the relevant period in which your new registration or renewal date falls:

Premiums: GST Tax Registered Customers

• 1 July 2008 to 30 September 2008
• 1 October 2008 to 31 December 2008

Premiums: Private customers

• 1 July 2008 to 30 September 2008
• 1 October 2008 to 31 December 2008

Driver Protection Cover

CTP insurance provides compensation to other people who are injured. But it doesn't provide compensation for injuries suffered by the at-fault driver.

Our free Driver Protection Cover^* provides benefits of up to $2,000,000 to the "at-fault" driver for a specified serious injuries if the motor vehicle is comprehensively insured with Suncorp (terms and conditions apply). If the vehicle is not comprehensively insured with Suncorp, Driver Protection Cover up to $1,000,000 for specified serious injuries is available to eligible "at fault" driver aged 25 years and over. If in our opinion, following a preliminary assessment of the claim, the at-fault driver is eligible or is likely to be eligible for DPC benefits, we will pay a lump sum of $5,000 which may assist in paying medical or rehabilitation costs. Driver Protection Cover applies automatically to vehicles classified as class 1 and 6 under the Queensland Motor Accident Insurance Regulation 2004.

If you're already with Suncorp for your CTP insurance, all you need to do to get Driver Protection Cover is renew with Suncorp as your nominated insurer. If you're not with Suncorp already, simply use our nomination form (pdf 53KB) to change your insurer at the next renewal. You will automatically receive Driver Protection Cover on your next registration renewal when Queensland Transport processes your renewal payment.
