New Suncorp Metway CFO Appointed
Suncorp Metway managing director Steve Jones is pleased to announce that Mr Daniel Wilkie will become the group's Chief Financial Officer from November 24, following the retirement of Mr Andy Hogendijk from the position.
Mr Wilkie, previously Group General Manager Strategy, has been CFO Elect since August. In that role, he and Mr Hogendijk have worked closely, enabling an orderly transition of the CFO responsibilities.
Mr Hogendijk is continuing his association with the group and will serve as non-executive Chairman of Suncorp Metway's LJ Hooker subsidiary, based in Sydney. He will work with LJ Hooker Managing Director Grahame Cooke to build the real estate business and develop opportunities to sell financial services through the LJ Hooker chain.
"Andy has made many valuable contributions since he took over as CFO in November 1997. He has overseen a number of significant improvements to our financial operations, and his expertise will be very important in growing the financial services business within LJ Hooker," said Mr Jones.
"We are grateful that Andy will continue to play an important role within the Suncorp Metway group," he said.
Daniel Wilkie joined Suncorp Metway in May 1999 as Group General Manager Strategy, following a long career in the insurance industry. A Chartered Accountant by profession, Daniel spent 5 years with KPMG and 11 years with NRMA Insurance in a number of senior roles, including Chief Financial Officer and Chief Information Officer.
"Under Daniel's leadership, the group's finance division will continue to be in excellent hands," said Mr Jones.
